Hi, my name is Gretchen. In my 15+ years in education I’ve gotten to wear many hats. I’m a former elementary teacher and instructional coach, and I’ve also served as a parent educator, teacher and leadership coach, and adjunct faculty. I have worked in a range of educational settings including: district and charter public schools, private schools, early childhood centers, and homeschool.

As a Co-Teacher, I work with families with learners in PreK-6th grade. And I specialize in working with families who are trying to meet the educational needs of multiple children in a household, families trying to fill holes they notice in their learners' education, and families trying to balance work and supporting their learners at home.

I am originally from Nashville, TN, then lived and worked in St. Louis, MO for over a decade and currently live in Connecticut with my husband and three children, ages 7, 5, and 3. I received my undergraduate degree in educational studies and psychology and a MA.Ed. in elementary education from Washington University in St. Louis.

Working as a Co-Teacher is an honor. Not only do I get to support families and the adults in a household, but together we will nurture their growth and development of your learners. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed with work and virtual learning, or you’re worried your child has fallen behind, or you’ve been hearing “I’m bored,” a lot, and you want to figure out what you could be doing with your child at home, or your child has shown an interest in a new subject, and you want some help figuring out how to nurture their passion- it’s my pleasure to come alongside you to figure it all out.

As a parent or caregiver, it’s easy to overlook the things you do on a daily basis that are helpful to learners. So, I’m going to be your mirror and help you see and appreciate all those things that you may think are little, but educators know are major. And, together (with your learners included) we are going to figure out even more ways that we can enhance learning in a way that feels good for you and your family.
